Landscape Design & Planting
Plants that belong here
Good landscaping in Volusia County starts with knowing which plants can take full sun, sandy soil and a summer of daily rain. Customers who have worked with Over The Moon keep mentioning the same thing: the owner knows his horticulture. That knowledge goes into every bed we lay out.
A design job can be one tired bed by the front door or a whole front yard: new island beds, curved borders, a stepping stone path through the plantings, and plants picked to fill in and stay in scale with the house.

Retaining walls
Most yards here are flat, but a short retaining wall still earns its place. It can raise a planting bed, hold soil around a tree, or level a slope down to a driveway. We build walls as part of a landscape job, so the wall, the bed behind it and the plants get planned together.
What a planting plan covers
It starts with a walk around the property. We look at where the afternoon sun hits, where water sits after a storm, what is already thriving and what is struggling. From there you get a clear plan: which beds to build or rework, what goes in them, and how they will look once they fill in.
“I have referred several of my own customers to Over the Moon. Every one of them has praised his ( the owner’s) knowledge of horticulture and the quality of the service they received. I have yet to receive any negative feedback.”
